100% Servo Control
Citizen-Cincoms 100% servo control adds advantages unavailable in other machine designs.
- Lower Maintenance: Servos eliminate belts, hydraulics, pressure sensors and most limit switches, pneumatics, and other maintenance-intensive components. The result is fewer parts to wear, easier maintenance, and less downtime.
- Better Performance: Fewer moving parts means less vibration and greater precision. Faster rapid traverses, higher spindle speeds, and shorter acceleration/deceleration times enhance produc-tivity, and with no belts, the Cincom FL42 is faster in the corners.
- Reduced Space: No hydraulics and limited pneumatics, smaller electrical cabinetry, and fewer parts all contribute to the Cincom FL42’s compact design and small 90"×56" footprint.
- Shorter Production Cycles: Servos allow shorter chip-to-chip tool changes, quicker tool replacements, high speed rapid traverses, and faster chuck open/close cycles. Time consuming chuck adjustments are also fully automated.
Space-Saving Tool Post Design
- Unique intermediate indexing holder allows 12-station turret to mount as many as 24 tools
- Standard VDI tooling, plus special tools previously available only for Swiss turning machines
- Live tooling at any station
- One turret serves both main- and sub-spindle

- Cincoms On-Machine Program Check: Simulates the program in forward and reverse to help the operator detect and correct programming errors. The operator determines speed of the review, editing is possible at any point during the review.
- Automatic Program Check Before Operation.
- On-Machine Tool Set: Sets and resets tools to precise tolerances with a single press of a button.
- Absolute Position Detection: Includes automatic 0-position return.
- Machine Status Memory and Display: Following alarm signals, displays the machine status on the screen and automatically places it in memory

Axis Movement
 |

Synchronized Control: The controller synchronizes the movement of one axis with that of another (e.g. the movement of the Z1 axis of the main spindle with the
Z2 movement of the sub-spindle) by pulse input so both actions occur simultaneously.
Superimposed Control: The controller causes the movement of one axis to overlap that of another (e.g. Z1 axis motion of the main spindle overlaps the Z2 axis of the sub-spindle. The actions of Z2 will coincide with, but be independent of, the actions of Z1).
