The Amalgamation of Two Great Companies Marubeni Citizen-Cincom, Inc.

Marubeni Citizen-Cincom (MCC) was founded in 1984 to market and service Citizen’s CINCOM family of Swiss-type turning centers. This venture represented the amalgamation of two of Japan’s largest and most highly regarded companies, Marubeni Corporation and Citizen Watch Company.

The CITIZEN name was established in 1930 when the Citizen Watch Company began producing its world-famous timepieces. Over the following decades, Citizen applied the precision production technologies developed through watch manufacturing to provide a wide range of electronic components and products. This vertical integration has led to the development of advanced production equipment. Among these are the highly precise, highly versatile Swiss-type turning centers known in the trade as CINCOM (Citizen Numerically Controlled Machines) and MIYANO high precision, fixed head automatic lathes.

Having started its business as a rural trading company specializing in yarn and textiles in 1858, MARUBENI has grown and made steady progress as a sogo shosha (general trading company) while expanding its businesses. Marubeni currently maintains 131 offices in 68 countries and has more than 400 consolidated companies that employ 40,000 people around the world. It trades products and services, including food, textiles, chemicals, machinery, energy, and a broad spectrum of consumer products that generate a revenue of $100 billion USD annually.

Today, MCC is a totally owned subsidiary of Marubeni Corporation and Citizen Machinery Company. Since its inception, MCC has successfully made CINCOM machines the most widely accepted Swiss-type turning centers in North America. In 2010 Miyano was added to the Citizen family and MCC became responsible for sales, service and parts for all Miyano products in North and Central America. The synergy of the two product lines enhances MCC's capability to offer our customers better manufacturing solutions for 2mm to 64 mm bar applications.

MCC is headquartered in Allendale, NJ, and maintains sales/service offices in California, Illinois and Massachusetts (which also houses our Technical center). These four offices are responsible for supporting an exclusive network of distributors located throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Central America.
